Lichtentaler Allee transforms into a bright sea of flowers of crocuses, followed by daffodils and tulips, as early as the end of February. Everything blossoms and smells. The first warm rays of sunshine invite you to spend some time in the city's pretty cafés.
It is the perfect mix of idyllic small town and the cultural offerings of a metropolis, pretty alleys and lots of nature, numerous opportunities for shopping... and especially in spring, the hiking trails in and around Baden-Baden are particularly charming.

The beginning of spring in Germany begins on 20 March and also finds its way into Baden-Baden.
The sun's rays bring nature to new life. Crocuses are sprouting in Lichtentaler Allee, Japanese ornamental cherries in white and delicate pink and magnolias offer a lush flowering of woody plants. This is complemented by blue stars and daffodils, whose blue, yellow and white bands of colour run through the entire city area. And the city centre also awakens to new life in the spring sunshine.
Baden-Baden is embedded in the northern Black Forest, not far from the Rhine plain, approx. 173m above sea level, which also has an effect on the climate.
The climate in Baden-Baden is warm and temperate. With a south-westerly flow, Mediterranean air spoils the city with mild temperatures, while in the rest of Germany winter clothing is still the order of the day.
So it's quite possible that Baden-Baden already hits the temperature mark of 20 degrees in spring.
The rose novelty competition in Baden-Baden is considered one of the most important in Europe. The novelty garden on the Beutig can even compete with the renowned test gardens in Paris, Rome and St. Albans in England.
